SnapList Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-24
SnapList is a personal listing assistant app. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes.
What SnapList stores on your device
- Photos you take of items are stored privately on your device, inside the app's own storage. They are not uploaded to any SnapList server, because SnapList does not operate a server.
- Listing drafts (title, price, condition, description, category, and sold/active status) are stored in a local database on your device only.
- Your Google Gemini API key and your eBay session are stored using Android's Keystore-backed encrypted storage, not as plain text.
What gets sent off your device, and to whom
- Google Gemini API: when you analyze a photo, that photo and a text prompt are sent directly from your device to Google's Gemini API, using your own personal Gemini API key. This only happens when you tap to analyze a photo. SnapList does not see or store this traffic; it goes directly from your device to Google.
- eBay: when you sign in to eBay or post a listing, you are interacting with eBay's own real website or, once available, eBay's official Sell API, directly. Your eBay password is never seen, read, or stored by SnapList — you type it directly into eBay's own login page. Listing data you choose to publish (title, price, description, photos, etc.) is sent to eBay because that is the point of publishing a listing.
What SnapList does not do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no ad identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of your data with third parties.
- No account required to use SnapList itself — you bring your own Gemini key and your own eBay login.
Your controls
- Clear your Gemini key anytime from Settings.
- Sign out of eBay anytime from Settings, which clears the stored session.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all local data (photos, listing drafts, keys, sessions) from your device.
Photos saved to your device gallery
If you use the eBay posting bridge to attach a photo to a listing, SnapList will, only when you tap to do so, copy that one photo into your device's normal photo gallery so you can select it from eBay's own photo picker. This is a local copy on your own device, not an upload.
